Our Story

From a small carwash diner to Iligan City’s Home of the Happy Tummies, this is 16 years of love, food, and family.

At Jacko’s Kan-anan, food has always been more than something you eat. It’s how we welcome people. It’s how we show we care. And for over 16 years, it’s been our way of bringing Iligan City together — one happy tummy at a time.

Where It All Started

In June 2009, the Jacko’s story began not with a restaurant — but with a carwash.

We had just opened our carwash business along the National Highway in Hinaplanon, Iligan City. A month in, we noticed our customers were hungry. So we did what any Filipino family would do; we cooked for them.

That simple act of feeding people became our calling. What started as a modest kan-anan (the local word for a neighbourhood diner) for a handful of carwash customers quickly grew into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

Built to Last

The road hasn’t always been easy. In December 2011, Typhoon Sendong struck Iligan City — one of the most devastating typhoons in the region’s history. Like many businesses and families, we were hit hard.

But we didn’t close. We came back.

We rebuilt, we regrouped, and we reopened. Because our community needed us, and we needed them. That experience taught us something we’ve never forgotten: the strength of a family-run business isn’t just in the food. It’s in the people who keep showing up, for each other and for the community they serve. We rebuilt, we regrouped, and we reopened — because our community needed us, and we needed them. The Jacko’s of Today

Today, Jacko’s Kan-anan is a full-service Filipino restaurant and catering business in Iligan City. We serve authentic lutong-bahay-inspired meals made with fresh local ingredients — the kind of food that tastes like it was made by someone who loves you.

Our restaurant can host private events and intimate gatherings, and our catering team brings Jacko’s flavors to your celebrations, wherever they may be.

But beyond the food and the function halls, what we’re most proud of is this: the families who’ve been dining with us for years. The celebrations we’ve been trusted to cater. The community programs we’ve been part of. The simple fact that people keep coming back.

That’s the real Jacko’s story.

What We Believe In

Food Made with Love

Every dish that leaves our kitchen is made the way it should be — with fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and genuine care. We don’t cut corners when it comes to the food we serve our community.

Hospitality That’s Real

Filipino hospitality isn’t a policy for us. It’s just how we are. When you walk into Jacko’s, you’re not just a customer. You’re a guest in our home.

Community First

We’re proud to be a part of Iligan City. Through charitable events, community programs, and simply feeding people well. Giving back has always been part of who we are.
