26th: the celebrations

Posted on

I recently celebrated my 26th birthday, and I know there are sooooo many reasons to party. And so this year’s celebration was super-duper-mega-over special — even better than last year. An entire weekend was for me. Haha!

So as promised, here’s what transpired on that memorable weekend:

On Saturday, February 26, 2011, we had a party for the kids of Pugaan at Jacko’s Kan-Anan. It’s year 2 of February Prject! Yeay!

So here are our guests:

And of course, like any birthday party, we had foooooood…

which everyone joyfully devoured…

We also had games….

and of course, the best part — there was a bunch of happy faces…

It was truly a blast! Many thanks to Tita Rose, Tito Nonoy, Ate Annie, Ma’am Fe, and the rest of their churchmates for facilitating the activity; to Ate Jenny and the people of Pugaan. Many, many thanks also to Mama, Papa, Gogong and Ate for the support and everyone at Jacko’s Kan-Anan. 😉

Part 2 of the celebration was a dinner party with family and friends the next day (same venue, of course).

We enjoyed a sumptuous meal…

with family and family friends…

and my fabulous friends…

thanks everyone!

Next year ulit… 🙂

The Boss’s Birthday Bash

Good food enjoyed with good company is indeed the best(est) way to celebrate birthdays! Sharing with you what we had for our boss’s birthday bash yesterday…

Starting off with Pata Tim. It’s a dish which is apparently Chinese in origin. It is actually pork leg (or hock or knuckle) braised in yummy sauce.

We also had grilled pork belly and delicious crispy squid.

But before you judge the menu as hypertension-inducing and totally inconsiderate for individuals nearing senior citizenship (*ahem*), we had much healthier choices.

steamed fish
vegetable salad

fruits

and more fruits
And as part of tradition, we also had noodles for looooooong life.

Bam-i for long life

And for dessert, we had a variety of choices (chocolate cake, cassava cake, brownies). We also had chicken macaroni salad (picture unavailable. sorry!).

And lastly, how can we ever celebrate a birthday without these?

So to cut the long story short: We were happy. Guests were happy. Boss was happy. So are our salary increases next? (*ahem*)
